Slip joint folders—the next frontier

I have started making folders with spring mechanisms. I was privileged to take a class with master smith Michael Vagnino.

MS Tom Ferry put a small class together for a few people (Dave Lisch, Michael Radar, Rick Lucas, myself and Tom). We spent two days learning how the mechanism worked and then making and fitting each part under the watchful eye of Mr. Vagnino. He is a very good teacher, well organized and patient. It was also the first time I had visited Tom’s shop. I appreciate his willingness to share his shop and time to further our understanding of knives.
