“Fire Moth” Damascus – unvailed

I spent three days, last week , forging Damascus. “Fire Moth” Damascus was born from the flames.

I get to use my father-in-laws shop on Whidbey island to forge my damascus. He built a hydraulic press about two years ago, which allows me to maximize my time forging. Since then I have tried to come up with interesting new damascus patterns to no avail. Last week, when I etched my last attempt, I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw. Below is a sample picture of the new billet.
